The National Street Gazetteer (NSG) For England & Wales
Intelligent-Addressing act as custodians of the National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) and the National Street Gazetteer (NGS) for England and Wales. They collate street, land and property information from over 500 local authorities, equating to over 28 million records supplied over 700 complex file submissions each and every month.
Building a Busines to Business (B2B) Solution
In 2005 Sparticle Limited were commissioned by Intelligent Addressing to develop a Business To Business (B2B) web application for the NSG database and proprietary in-house data collection, validation and publishing system.
Integrating IT Systems
Despite an aggressive delivery schedule Sparticle Limited delivered the
enterprise level B2B solution on-time and on-budget. The solution involved
integration with existing production database systems and processes on every
level of the clients IT infrastructure. Sparticle Limited brought together appropriate
database, scripting, applications, web site technologies and server configurations
to deliver a modular architecture designed with maintainable and extensibility
at it's core.
Most importantly the system has proven to be extremely reliable, which is essential
when you consider how important the information it handles is.

The system is now used by every Local Highway Authority in England and Wales. Furthermore statutory undertakers including public utility providers, telecomms companies, local councils, authorised companies and the emergency services regularly use the system to securely download vital information. In fact many aspects of everyone's daily life uses, in some way, the information that passes through the system.
